My research.

I study clinical conditions through the lens of ‘normal’ psychological experience.

During my PhD, I studied Visual Snow Syndrome (a condition which I have had my whole life).

In particular, I studied the subjective experience of Visual Snow Syndrome - why some people find their VSS incredibly negative, whereas others don’t notice their symptoms at all.

I am currently studying the role of sleep in cognition in healthy humans, as part of the Tamaki Lab at RIKEN Center for Brain Science.
